Let me take you on a journey into the captivating world of BJD dolls, as I unveil the enchanting tale of my cherished Bobobie Apollo, fondly named Noel. Join me in reliving the anticipation that gripped my heart as I yearned to bring this coveted doll into my collection. With its irresistible tan skin, the Apollo doll exudes a unique allure that instantly captivated me.

Christmas arrived, and there he was, a precious gift bestowed upon me. Little did I know that Noel’s tan complexion would present me with exciting challenges in unlocking his true potential. Finding the perfect color schemes, faceups, and clothing that complement his distinct skin tone proved to be a delightful puzzle I was determined to solve.

Over the years, Noel has undergone a series of transformations, each one unveiling a new facet of his personality. From his early years, where he sported a look reminiscent of those trendy MySpace profile pictures (for those unfamiliar with the platform, consider it a nostalgic nod to an earlier era), to the present day, where his appearance reflects a refined and meticulous aura.

I just kept feeling like he was not himself. His character is supposed to be a drummer in Tre’s band. He is a fun guy very much like Tre and is very expressive. I guess that is why I went with the colorful wigs at first. I even tried different faceups a couple of times. The Apollo has a very unique face with a slender nose and heavily sculpted eyelids on top. This was challenge for doing eyeliner since you had to either pain the whole thing and the lid or just do a very thin line.

Later on in life I got very addicted to a online webtoon called Siren’s Lament. I really fell in love with one of the characters than I completely ditched who he was supposed to be and made him based off that character.

He kept this look for a while but eventually I wanted him to be his original character again. The wig hunt started and I wanted to change his look yet again!

I did yet another faceup and kept this look for a while again. There was still something missing and I really wasn’t liking the grey and white hair. I just wanted him to be his character so badly but didn’t know what to do. After time passing again I recently felt the itch to change him again!

I had 2 Dolly Talk Tuesday streams where I showed how I transformed him yet again.

This time I wanted it to be a lighter and softer look. I bought a wig off a friend who had this really curly pink wig. The color was so nice and I felt like it looked good on Noel. I wasn’t sure about the curls but I wanted to see if I could make it work with styling and a new faceup. In my stream I tried straightening the wig. It was fun process and I am glad I got the chance to change up a wig. I also wiped his face clean and started from scratch.

In the above photo-On the left is a shot of the progress during stream, the photo on the left is what he used to look like. I also forgot that I had made glue piercings for him. It gave me the opportunity to show the stream how to remove them safely and how easy glue piercings were to do.

It took me 2 streaming sessions to finish him but I feel like he is more of what I want him to be.

The new faceup is very soft and very natural. I think the wig suits him well but still needs styling. As for the eyes- I would like to get him his own glass eyes. The eyes he currently has are cheap acrylics I got from a lot of like 60 eyes. Will I be keeping this style and look for him from now on?

Who knows?
